Maruthi Group began in 1996 with a simple belief.

If we serve customers well, Customers will trust us.

And they did.

Two young entrepreneurs, Anandham Selvakumar and Ravishankar, started Maruthi Power Systems from a small bachelor mansion, with little business experience and a strong passion for technology and customer service.

We started by selling UPS systems. Every installation taught us something. Every customer interaction helped us improve. Instead of focusing only on selling products, we focused on supporting customers and create Wow experience in every customer touchpoint.

From a Small Mansion to 50,000 Customers

1996

The Beginning

Two young entrepreneurs, Anandham Selvakumar and Ravishankar, started Maruthi Power Systems from a small bachelor mansion, manufacturing home inverters. They started with a small investment and a big passion for technology and customer service. The company began with a simple belief: if we serve our customers well, they will take care of us. And they did.

1998

Started Manufacturing UPS

The home inverters business made them successful. Maruthi then started manufacturing UPS systems for corporates. Because of the commitment towards service excellence, the business started growing. We focused on supporting customers and creating a Wow experience at every touchpoint.

2007

Customers Called Us for CCTV and Surveillance Systems

Maruthi had become a trusted brand in many households and corporates. Over time, because of our trusted service, customers began calling us. They wanted us to help with CCTV and Surveillance Systems. We did not enter new businesses because we wanted to sell more products. We entered because our customers wanted a trusted partner who could solve their challenges.

2009

Solar Solutions - Built on Trust

Solar power had become the alternative energy of choice. With the technology advantage of being in power management, customers trusted us with Solar solutions as well. That trust became the foundation of our growth.

Each business unit was headed by a dedicated team. The company started implementing systems and processes to scale further.

2012

A Business That Gives Back - Anandham Youth Foundation

Our founder Anandham Selvakumar, along with a group of like-minded friends, established the Anandham Youth Foundation. We believe a successful business is more than products and profits , it should contribute to the well-being of society. As of 2026, the Foundation supports 1,126 students in their higher education journey. This impact has been made possible through the collective efforts of donors, well-wishers, volunteers, and CSR partners who share the same vision. For our Founder Anandham Selvakumar . business and social responsibility are not separate – one supports the other.

2018

A Benchmark Project -
IPL and World Cup Security

Maruthi was awarded one of the largest CCTV installations, covering the most prestigious and security-sensitive venues during the IPL and World Cup matches. The project became a benchmark , completed in record time, with a two-day installation turnaround and zero failure rate.

2024

Our First Megawatt-Scale Project

The Maruthi team achieved the highest number of rooftop solar installations across Tamil Nadu and also bagged the first megawatt-scale plant — a 4.8 MW project , marking a significant milestone in the company’s solar journey.

2025

Happy Towers -Happy Team

Maruthi Group moved into its own corporate office – a dream journey from a bachelor mansion to a purpose-built office at a strategic location in Guindy, behind Olympia Tech Park. The new office gives easy access to all customers and engineers. Thoughtfully designed, it nurtures young talent and stands as a testament to a vision realised , an organization built on values , trust and integrity

One Commitment. Unchanged.

More than three decades have passed since we started Maruthi Power. Technology has changed. Markets have changed. Customer expectations have changed. But one thing has remained the same — our commitment to creating a Wow experience for every customer and making a positive difference in the lives of the people we serve. Today, Maruthi Group has a team of more than 95 employees, serving over 50,000 customers across Tamil Nadu with a 93.5 percent customer retention rate.
